In this investigation, the case of a company dedicated to the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products was analyzed, which presented a high level of inventories of inputs and materials for production. This excess represented around 3.5 million soles, equivalent to 6% of the company's annual turnover. To measure the existing technical gap, the inventory days indicator was considered, whose goal was established by the company as part of its policy and additionally, this goal was supported with a scientific article from an organization with similar characteristics. The company under study had 157 days of inventory on average, which, compared to the target of 120 days, resulted in a gap of 37 days. To solve this situation, Method Engineering was applied, in order to reduce purchase levels and reduce changes in demand. In addition it was complemented with the 5S tool, which allowed better performance of tasks and activities through order and cleanliness in warehouse dispatch management. Finally, economic viability was evaluated using financial indicators such as NPV and IRR.
