The efficiency in managing Requests for Information (RFIs) is crucial for the advancement of construction projects, especially during the execution phase of public-school construction in North Lima. However, this process encounters various challenges related to communication and coordination among the different stakeholders involved. Response times to RFIs can be prolonged due to a lack of precise information, delays in message transmission, and the inherent complexity of the inquiries. To address these challenges, the adoption of methodologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Integrated Concurrent Engineering (ICE) is proposed as effective solutions. The proposed guide is structured in several stages: diagnosing current problems, defining protocols for BIM usage, formulating inquiries, organizing ICE sessions, coordinating among the involved professionals, and monitoring the process. Conducting ICE sessions, combined with the application of BIM, aims to enhance communication and collaboration among parties, thereby facilitating prompt responses to RFIs. Preliminary indicators suggest that implementing these methodologies can significantly reduce response times while fostering a more collaborative work environment. In the analyzed projects, the integration of BIM and ICE sessions has shown an increase in the effectiveness of RFI management, contributing to improved performance in project execution. In conclusion, this guide aims to optimize response times to RFIs in public school construction through the utilization of BIM and ICE methodologies, thereby strengthening communication and coordination among project teams.
