This research analyzes the issue faced by a foreign refinery with operations located in Lima, Peru regarding the lack of optimization in the supply chain, which causes delays in the delivery of components to their own internal departments, which sometimes causes delays or even disruptions in the supply chain. The study focuses on the role of the purchasing and foreign trade departments in the import and delivery of key components necessary for the refinery's normal activities. A qualitative research approach was employed, utilizing both primary and secondary data from the refinery, including public and private information, as well as semi-structured interviews with key personnel involved in the issue. Three alternatives were proposed, the implementation of modular network technology was selected as the solution. This technology will enable constant monitoring and analysis of machinery, allowing for more accurate and timely decision-making in the purchasing department, without disrupting the other members of the supply chain or national and international operations. Additionally, this technology will facilitate clear communication with the user departments that depend on the purchasing and foreign trade departments to supply the necessary parts to ensure their operation.
