The objective of this research work was the application of process management, in determining the precise diagnosis of patients with gastric problems evaluated by the two processes, gastroenterological and pathological anatomical, and determining which is the most precise that benefits the patient. Fiberoptic endoscopy alone is an excellent technique for exploration of the upper gastrointestinal tract, and in expert hands provides a diagnostic accuracy of approximately 96%. Endoscopy with a fiberoptic device also allows biopsy of the lesion to be performed, in order to confirm a histopathological diagnosis, thereby improving the diagnostic accuracy of the technique. The findings, regarding the relationship between anatomopathological and endoscopic diagnosis, show us that there is no certainty in the endoscopic diagnosis in relation to the anatomopathological diagnosis. Within the agreement, we found that, in the group of elevated lesions with suspected dysplasia, diagnosed endoscopically, these were confirmed with the pathological diagnosis, while the others were considered elevated gastric lesions without dysplasia and chronic gastritis.
