The objective of this research work was called “Directive leadership and organizational commitment in the Faustino Sánchez Carrión Educational Institution” arose after the need to demonstrate deficiencies with respect to the efforts of the director of the Institution, which led to generating disinterest on the part of the teaching staff in their services and students in the learning process. Thus, the objectives set by this research were, in the first instance, to determine the relationship of managerial leadership along with its dimensions (future direction, people development, redesign of the organization and instructional management) with organizational commitment in the Faustino Sánchez Carrión Educational Institution. The methodology used was the applied quantitative approach, non-experimental design with cross section, correlational level, deductive method, finally the data collection technique was the survey applied to a census sample of 35 teachers. The results were that 47.1% of the teachers considered it moderate; 26.5% considered it strong and the other 26.5% considered it weak. On the other hand, with respect to organizational commitment, it was evident that 44.1% considered it at a medium level, 29.4% perceived it as good and 26.5% as low; Regarding the correlation of both variables, through the Pearson test it was possible to assert a high positive relationship of 0.793 with a p value of less than 5%.
