The objective of this research work is to generate an analysis of the study variables to later establish the degree of impact that these have in the San Martin region. Likewise, the sample was made up of documents explicitly related to monetary transfers and, as well as, the poverty index. In the methodological aspect, the present study determined a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental type of research and a descriptive correlational-causal design. On the other hand, the statistical treatment was subject to the integral SPSS system and Microsoft Excel for the generation of tables and figures; to subsequently make the analysis effective against the research objectives. Likewise, the results regarding monetary transfers showed a growth between the periods 2013 - 2016; However, the degree of poverty has been showing a decrease of 23.91% for the period 2013 and 20.74% for 2016. Therefore, it was concluded that through the Spearman Rho statistical test a considerable negative correlation 0.836; inferring that the more monetary transfers are made, the lower the poverty rate will be in the case of elderly people. In this way, the null hypothesis was rejected and the research hypothesis was accepted: "Monetary transfers had a significant impact on poverty in San Martín: Pension 65 case from 2013 to 2016."
