The present research measures the implications and relationships that junk television programs have and critical thinking in the analysis of the construction of their learning by students, the present research has as a central objective to establish the relationship between the consumption of the Telebasura programs and critical thinking of students in the fifth year of secondary school at the Educational Institution Los Hijos de María - San Juan de Lurigancho. The descriptive correlational design was worked. Where two evaluation instruments were applied: a questionnaire for telebasura programs and critical thinking to the 106 students in the fifth year of secondary school. These instruments were subjected to analyzes that established that the tests are valid and reliable. The results indicate that there are no significant correlations between junk television programs and critical thinking, having a relationship inversely. Likewise, the existence of inversely proportional negative correlations between each of the dimensions of the variables can be observed.
