The objective of this research was to determine the relationship of the teaching strategies of the teacher and the learning of mathematics of the students of the 1st cycle of the professional career of business engineering of the Peruvian University of Research and Business, Lima, 2016. The methodology used consisted of the hypothetical-deductive method, taking into consideration that the research was carried out with a non-experimental transectional design of correlational scope. The results showed that at a significance level of 0.05 a p-value = 0.009 and a Pearson correlation = 0.433 ** were obtained, so the alternative hypothesis is affirmed. It was concluded that the teaching strategies of the teacher are directly related to the learning of mathematics of the students of the I Cycle of the Professional Career in Business Engineering of the Peruvian University of Research and Business, Lima, 2016.
