The objective of this research work was collaborative learning and basic cognitive skills in third-year secondary school students at the I.E. Antonia Moreno de Cáceres of the Province of Ica, is a correlational type experiment which has the participation of 35 third grade secondary school students, using the assessment sheet as an instrument. It was aimed at supporting the relational level of collaborative learning and basic cognitive competencies. Based on the findings evaluated in the field of statistics, it is deduced that collaborative learning is directly interrelated with the basic cognitive competencies developed in third-year secondary school students at the I.E. Antonia Moreno de Cáceres from the Province of Ica, with a significant connection of 0.849. Consequently, the coefficient of variance (r2= 0.721) indicates that the basic cognitive competencies developed in students are 72.1% determined by Collaborative Learning, from the I.E. Antonia Moreno from Cáceres of the Province of Ica.
