The objective of this research work was titled Family dysfunction and academic performance in the area of personal, citizen and civic development in third grade secondary school students of the Divino Maestro Educational Institution, Chosica-2022, its general problem is: What relationship exists? between family dysfunctionality and academic performance in the area of personal, citizen and civic development of the third grade secondary school students of the Divino Maestro Educational Institution of Lurigancho-Chosica during the period 2022?, and the objective of determining the relationship that exists between family dysfunction and academic performance in the area of personal, citizen and civic development in third grade secondary school students of the Divino Maestro Educational Institution, in the district of Lurigancho-Chosica, 2022. The methodology used used corresponds to descriptive studies, with a non-experimental transectional design. For this, 30 students participated, which in this case is the same non-probabilistic sample. To measure the variables, the questionnaire was used according to the two variables: family dysfunction and academic performance. It was found that only 3.3% (1) of students consider that their parents constantly support them in their school activities and 30% (9) rate their academic performance in classes as very good. If we verify the result p ≤ 0.05, it can be inferred that there is a weak positive correlation between the variables (Hernández, Fernández and Baptista, 2014), then it is demonstrated that there is a significant relationship between family dysfunction and academic performance in third-year students. high school degree from the Divino Maestro Educational Institution, in the Lurigancho-Chosica district, 2022 (p ≤ 0.05 represents a weak positive correlation).
