The objective of this research work was to determine the level of relationship between playful activities and the development of operational skills in the area of mathematics in 1st year high school students at the I.E. Andrés Avelino Cáceres, Utcubamba – Amazonas, that is, to understand how the incorporation of games and playful activities in the teaching of mathematics can positively impact learning and the development of operational skills in students. The thesis was based on an exhaustive review of the literature related to the teaching of mathematics and pedagogical strategies that promote meaningful learning. The results of the research revealed that playful activities play a fundamental role in the development of operational skills in high school students. Some of the key findings found are that students show greater interest and motivation when games and playful activities are incorporated into the classroom, allowing them to understand mathematical concepts in a deeper and more meaningful way.
