It is known that food security exists when all people at all times have physical and economic access to enough safe (healthy) and nutritious food to satisfy their nutritional needs and preferences in order to lead an active and healthy life, therefore, in nutrition factors and food safety are now part of the new definitions of food safety. Currently, food is one of the fundamental problems presented by the contemporary world where hunger and extreme poverty reign, which are the causes of food and nutritional insecurity. That is why food education plays an important role, which is the responsibility of both the family and the educational centers. It is important to consider the biological use of food, an aspect referred to access to hygienic conditions and health services that determine the state of health and therefore the body's ability to make use of the nutrients contained therein. Likewise, it has been determined that the university population is an especially vulnerable group from the nutritional point of view since it is characterized by skipping meals frequently and making small meals repeatedly between the main meals and generally not having good food hygiene practices. At present, people and especially students, do not give the importance due to food safety, when consuming a food, because they do not know the importance of this factor for adequate nutrition. It is therefore important to establish a food and nutritional education strategy that improves and strengthens the teaching-learning process in young university students, relating and evaluating the impact generated by the management or administration of food safety on the nutrition of the University students.
