The objective of this research work was to determine the effect of the food educational intervention through social networks on the consumption of trans fats in young university students at UNE, Peru 2021. The type of research was experimental, which allowed us to obtain and analyze the data on the frequency of consumption of trans fats, before and after the 3 educational interventions, the quasi-experimental design was used, whose sample was 86 young university students, our trans fat consumption variable was tested with the educational intervention, analyzing the changes longitudinally. The technique was a survey, a pre and post questionnaire was used as an instrument that was validated through expert judgment, to evaluate the consumption of trans fats. The data were processed in the SPSS 25 program and were determined with Cronbach's Alpha and Pearson's Chi square. It resulted, in the pre-test, in a high consumption of 28.6% of foods with trans fats, after the dietary intervention the young people decreased their consumption to 11.2%, this was manifested in the post-test. It was concluded that the effect of the educational intervention had a positive and significant influence on the frequency of consumption of trans fats in university students.
