The present study's general objective is to determine the influence of the application of affectgrams as a strategy for the monitoring and knowledge of affective development in the academic performance of secondary school students at the “San Francisco de Asís” Secondary Educational Institution in Tacna. The methodology implemented is of a quantitative approach, of a basic descriptive-correlational nature, with a non-experimental design. The population was 30 students from the educational institution "San Francisco de Asís" in the city of Tacna, the census-type sample. To collect information, 1 questionnaire was applied to measure the affectgrams variable and another questionnaire to measure the academic performance variable. The results of the statistical analysis show the existence of a Rho = 0.841 relationship between the variables: effectgrams and academic performance, indicating that there is a direct and significant relationship, with a high level of correlation (according to Bisquerra, R., 2009) then, the greater the application of Efectograms, the higher the academic performance. The significance of p = 0.000 shows that p is less than 0.05, which allows us to indicate that the relationship is significant, therefore, the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted. That is to say: the effectgram improves academic performance in secondary level students of the Secondary Educational Institution "San Francisco de Asís" in the city of Tacna.
