With the objective of this non-experimental quantitative research of a descriptive-correlational type, we sought to know the degree of relationship that exists between the textual typology and the development of reading comprehension in fifth-year secondary school students in a public institution in Lima during the year 2023. The sample was made up of 127 students, to whom a survey was applied to obtain the data. The results revealed very high positive correlations between the dimensions of textual typology and text comprehension. A very high positive correlation (Spearman's Rho = 0.984) was found between narrative textual typology and reading comprehension. Likewise, a very high positive correlation (Spearman's Rho = 0.979) was observed between the instructional textual typology and reading comprehension. Similarly, a very high positive correlation (Spearman's Rho = 0.972) was evident between the textual typology descriptive and reading comprehension. Furthermore, a very high positive correlation (Spearman's Rho = 0.983) was found between expository textual typology and reading comprehension. Finally, a very high positive correlation was found (Spearman's Rho = 0.985) between argumentative textual typology and reading comprehension.
