The stress defined as an environmental exigency that originates a state of tension or threat that needs a change or adjustment, is a factor that affects the integral health of people and is the principal cause factor of diverse problems of health to physical and emotional level. The academic life can be stressful for the students, they need high levels of initiatory independence and autorregulación representing a highly stressful set of situations due to the fact that the individual can experience a lack of control on the new potentially generating environment of stress. The research was executed at the School of Stomatology of Alas Peruanas University of Lima in 2013. The population was of 120 students and a sample of 52 students. The obtained X² show a relationship between the variables, and we can infer with a level of significance of 0,05 that the levels od stress are significant related with the academic performance. We conclude that the levels of stress and academic performance are significant related because X 2 (12,92>12,59), that means, the calculated Chi square is greater that the critic one and the relationship grade is 51%. That, the associated stress to stile of life, to the environment, to the syntoms, to the employment, to the relationships, to the personality are significant related to the academic performance.
