The present research work entitled "Teaching performance and its relationship with the academic performance of the students of the VII cycle of the Vocational Training School of Primary Education of the National University of Huancavelica, 2016", has been aimed at seeking the association of the variables teaching performance and academic performance, for which it has been decided to define the study in a quantitative approach, where a hypothesis is contrasted, with a cross-sectional descriptive correlational design, being the population and that of 45 students, by focusing on a single academic semester, likewise, a questionnaire and a data collection sheet were considered for the consolidation of information. The statistical treatment was descriptive with a scale of statuses where, as a result, the perception of teaching performance was rated at a regular level with 86.67% and academic performance also obtained the high and medium level, and with the normality test we opted to perform a hypothesis test with Spearman's non-parametric rho statistic because one of the variables does not come from a normal distribution and it is statistically concluded that there is a moderate positive correlation, given that the value found between the two variables is 0.755, being direct and significant, it is also disclosed that the significance value is 0.000, this being sufficient for our contrast.
