The aim of the present research work was to evaluate the effectiveness of cooperative work as an instructional approach in teaching sociomotor skills, encompassing sensorimotor, social and bodily movement, based on Vygotsky's sociocultural theory, Vygotsky's social learning theory, as well as the prominence of Bandura and Ausubel's learning theory. Employing a quantitative methodology with a causal explanatory and quasi-experimental design, the study comprised two distinct groups: an experimental group and a control group. Conducted over a span of 60 instructional hours, the experiment took place between April and November 2017, with two hours per week devoted to it. Data were collected through structured observations and testing techniques, and subsequently processed, analyzed and interpreted using statistical methods. The hypothesis test performed using the Student t-test method yielded a conclusion that supports the alternative hypothesis (Hi: α ≥ β): collaborative work has a notable impact on sociomotor skills within the physical domain of second grade students. The analysis units for this study were concentrated in secondary education, as demonstrated by the calculated value of 5.8751 exceeding the table value of 1.6839, with a confidence level of 0.05.
