This research entitled Polya Method for learning the area of mathematics in students of the 2nd high school of the I.E. 20955, Huarochiri 2018, presents as its main problem: How does the application of the Polya Method influence the learning of mathematics in secondary students of the I.E. 20955, Huarochiri 2018? and the objective was formulated to determine the influence of the Polya Method in the learning of the area of mathematics in students of the 2nd secondary of the I.E. 20955, Huarochiri 2018. The methodology used corresponds to the studies of quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. It had a population of 101 students, being in this case a non-probabilistic sample distributed in two groups experimental group (28) and control group (25); To measure the variables, the survey and the Test instrument were used as a technique, which was validated by expert judgment and the Kuder - Richardson reliability (0.800 excellent reliability). In the descriptive statistics it was found that the pretest of the Learning area of mathematics, in the experimental group 32.1% (17) have a medium level and the control group in 30.2% (16), on the other hand in the post-test of the mathematics area, in the experimental group 28.3% (15) have a very high level and in the control group in 28.3% (15) they have a medium level. Its main conclusion indicates that: The Polya Method significantly influences the learning of the area of mathematics in students of the 2nd secondary of the I.E. 20955, Huarochiri 2018 (In the Pretest: p> 0.05, Z = - 1,046 >-1,96 and Average range = 28,79> 25 and in the Posttest: p <0,05, Z = -5,838< - 1.96 and Average range = 38.23> 14.48).
