This research’s main objective was to verify the application effect of the GeoGebra software on the competencies achievement of lines and conics of one public University of Cusco students, 2020. The research approach is quantitative of the applied type. The design is quasi-experimental, with the use of measurement questionnaires before and after the intervention 60 students participated in the research, of which 30 applied the GeoGebra software in their learning of lines and conics, while other 30 without the use of any mathematical software used the expository method, the control and experimental groups were integrated by students from four professional schools from the Agrarian Sciences Faculty of San Antonio Abad del Cusco University, which were randomly selected as intact groups. To verify the homogeneity of knowledge in the elements studied a pre-test was administered to both groups before using the teaching strategies and later the hypothesis raised in the investigation was verified through a post-test. The data collection instruments were validated by expert judgment with a 90% average value, excellent level, the reliability was determined with the Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.835; According to the criteria used, it presents high reliability. In the research according to the Student‘s t-test at 95% confidence (p-value < 0.05) it was concluded that the application of the GeoGebra software on the students of a public University of Cusco (2020) significantly improved the achievement of competencies in lines and conics by 3.33 and 3.77 points respectively. This same reality was evidenced by the results obtained in the cognitive, procedural and attitudinal dimensions.
