The objective of this research work is to show the quality of family support in social adaptation, which is usually one of the topics frequently addressed in order to know to what extent the family should intervene in the development of this area, therefore for this study The general research objective seeks to determine the relationship between family support and social interaction skills in 5-year-old children of the Educational Institution 115-19 Mamá Lucie. We worked with a quantitative, correlational approach methodology, with a sample of 34 5-year-old children. The instrument for social interaction skills called the Social Interaction Skills Test for children from 3 to 6 years old was applied; and for family support the Questionnaire based on the adaptation for children of the MOS Perceived Social Support Questionnaire. The general result indicates that family support and social interaction skills are significantly and directly related in 5-year-old children of the Educational Institution 115-19 Mamá Lucie. Furthermore, this relationship is positive and of medium magnitude (r=0.459), concluding that the greater the family support, the greater the development of social interaction skills.
