The objective of this research work was to identify the relationship between the use of learning strategies and academic performance in the English Workshop II course in Second Specialty in Foreign Language English students at UNE. The sample included 35 students, 19 from the HB classroom and 16 from the HC classroom, from the 2021 cycle II promotion. A questionnaire with a correlational design was used to collect the data. The results indicated that direct strategies are significantly related to academic performance in English, with a Spearman correlation of 0.712, indicating a high positive correlation. Similarly, indirect strategies also showed a high positive correlation with academic performance, with a Spearman correlation of 0.642. In conclusion, it was found that learning strategies, both direct and indirect, are directly related to academic performance in English. The Spearman correlation of 0.754 reinforces this conclusion, suggesting that greater use and development of learning strategies is associated with better academic performance in the English language. This underscores the importance of implementing effective learning strategies to improve academic outcomes in English language learning.
