The objective of this research work was titled Social skills and assertiveness in students of an Educational Institution in the city of Yurimaguas, Alto Amazonas Province, Loreto Region; The objective was to determine the relationship between social skills and assertiveness in students. Likewise, the research approach was quantitative, relational and non-experimental in design. The sample was made up of 21 students. The data collection instrument was questionnaires. The results showed that the social skills of the students were inadequate by 62%; This was reflected in the fact that the students do not show behavior linked to good communication and friendly treatment towards other classmates, and they also present difficulties in making friends and expressing their feelings. Likewise, the level of assertiveness shown by the students was low at 67%, as this was due to the fact that the majority of students showed difficulties in expressing their thoughts and defending their position respectfully. It concludes that social skills were significantly related to assertiveness in the students of an Educational Institution of Yurimaguas, this was demonstrated according to the application of the Spearman's Rho statistical test, whose value of sig. Bilateral was less than the margin of error of 0.05. This value indicated the degree of correlation 0.633, indicating a medium positive correlation. This allowed the researcher's hypothesis to be accepted.
