The main objective of this research work is to demonstrate the effectiveness of using the Polya didactic model in the learning of partial derivatives in students of the Faculty of Industrial and Systems Engineering at UNI. This research is part of the quantitative approach and uses a quasi-experimental design with two comparison groups. The sample was set at a total of 80 students divided into an experimental group and a control group. Polya's didactic model was used with the experimental group and the traditional model was followed with the control group. Both groups were evaluated with duly validated knowledge tests before and after treatment. The data were statistically analyzed with the Z comparison and resulted in the experimental group obtaining higher scores than the control group in learning partial derivatives, which is why the general research hypothesis is accepted. On the other hand, and to the extent that the specific results are in the same direction as those reported in general terms, the specific research hypotheses are also considered accepted.
