The objective of this research work is to establish the degree of relationship that exists between professional training and the research skills developed by the students of the “Chincha” Higher Technological Institute, year 2022. Methodology: research with a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive and correlational. The sample used was 160 students from eight professional careers; The technique was the Survey and two derived and ad hoc instruments for measuring the variables. Results: Regarding the quality of vocational training, the trend of highest assessment is in the very good-good range with a cumulative score of 85%. In relation to investigative skills, the trend of highest assessment is in the medium-low range, with a cumulative score of 88%. Conclusion: It was determined that the trend of highest valuation for professional training is located in the very good-good range with a cumulative score of 85%, while the development of investigative skills is located in the medium-low range with a cumulative of 88%, generating a positive and moderate correlation index of 0.468 for Pearson's Rho. Taking into account the coefficient of variability, it is inferred that research skills are determined in 21.9% by the professional training of the students of the “Chincha” Higher Technological Institute, this shows that there are other more relevant factors that also intervene in the research performance of the students. .
