The present investigation has the inquiry of identifying the use visual codes representative of Peruvian cultures in the wardrobe of videogame characters. This would make the main objective to analyze the use of visual codes in the wardrobe of action game characters and their relationships with aspects of Peruvian cultures. Using an investigation of qualitative descriptive focus, and a non-experimental transversal design, 5 characters were analyzed that met the criteria of Peruvian characters in action videogames released in the last 10 years. There was the use of analysis sheets and interviews to experts of the topics to support the investigation. With this established, the main results indicate the repetition of certain physical characteristics in different characters, as well as the identification of a specific archetype present in all the characters. It was also identified that feathers, gold and the colour red were repeated visual codes in the designs, and that there is great importance in the investigation part of the process of character design. Therefore, the conclusions that were reached were that Peruvian characters exist in a stereotypic form in action videogames, and that red and the use of gold are the most important visual codes to be able to properly identify and represent a Peruvian character. As a final conclusion, it is presented that to be able to make a good character design, it is necessary to have true and valid information about the characters culture and the correct segregation of it.
