The present study has been carried out with the purpose of determining the relationship between graphomotor activities and the development of writing in 5-year-old boys and girls from Private Educational Institutions of Trujillo, 2024. It is a basic, non-experimental research, with correlational design. The study problem was: How are graphomotor activities and the development of writing related in 5-year-old boys and girls from Private Educational Institutions of Trujillo, 2024? The hypothesis was: Graphomotor activities are significantly related to the development of writing in 5-year-old boys and girls from Private Educational Institutions of Trujillo, 2024. The study sample consisted of 105 5-year-old boys and girls. Two instruments were used: an observation sheet to measure graphomotor skills that consists of 27 items; and a test that measures writing development that consists of 16 items. The two instruments have been validated through expert judgment and show a good level of reliability: 0.813 and 0.885 respectively. The results indicate that graphomotor activities are significantly related to the development of writing whose Spearman's Rho coefficient is (R = 0.796) with a significance of 0.001 which is less than 5% (0.05). This causes the null hypothesis to be rejected and the working hypothesis to be accepted. In the same way, the correlation of the graphomotor activities variable with each of the dimensions of the writing variable was evidenced, finding a direct and significant relationship in all cases. In this way, all the specific null hypotheses are rejected and the working hypotheses are accepted
