This research work focuses primarily on supporting the students of the Electromagnetism and Optical Physics course in their university life and how to face learning process. It is about knowing the learning styles to identify the different ways in which students can perceive, process and integrate information, in order to adapt them to an active teaching-learning methodology. The learning profile of university students is first identified using the C.H.A.E.A. questionnaire and thestatistical software IBM SPSS24;thenit is contrasted with the preferred learning strategiesto identify the activities which the students learn best, and itis related to the questions that guide to generate the learning; It is finalized by designing a methodological proposal called “Teaching Methodologybased on Student Learning Styles” (Metodología de Enseñanza basada en Estilos de Aprendizajede los Estudiantes-EAEin Spanish). This methodology is eclectic, that is, it consists of several teaching methods, chosen and tuned to the needs of the students. It also considers a combination of methods: inductive and deductive, according to the teaching nature trial-error, and linear progression, and according to the type of teaching in dynamic instruction: Learning strategies such as: team-based cooperative, information and communication technology (ICT) associated with active methodology, inverted classroom, and problem-based learning (ABP) and techniques, including master class, individual work, group work and work virtual.
