The objective of this research was to characterize the different curricular adaptations that teachers carry out, as well as to know their level of efficiency for the development of reading and writing in secondary education students with special educational needs, in a private school in Metropolitan Lima, during the academic year 2022. For this, a methodology with a qualitative approach and a descriptive level was applied. A sample of six students was selected, conducting semi-structured interviews with the teachers and the person in charge of the area of attention to diverse educational needs (ANED), who are the ones carrying out the curricular adaptations. To know the level of efficiency, the grades of the academic reports (before and after the application of the adaptations) were compared. The results indicate that the adaptations were characterized by being mostly non-significant, both in reading and writing, being applied more frequently in educational materials and evaluation. It is concluded that the curricular adaptations were efficient for the development of reading in the majority (five students), and for half (three students), in writing.
