This research had as a general objective to know how the case method influences the formation of the critical thinking of the fourth grade primary school girls of a private school in the Breña district. An approach was made to the existing bibliography, about the case method and critical thinking. On the one hand, the case method is a teaching technique that, based on situatio ns, problems and experiences, leads to problem solving. On the other hand, critical thinking, involves logic, criteria, analysis, understanding, reflection and evaluation, for a better deepening on the subject, three types of case method were described: case-problem or casedecision, cases focused on the study of descriptions and problem solving cases. This research is approached with the methodology of the qualitative approach, descriptive level and the instrument, a semi-open interview. In conclusion, we see that the case method is a technique that has a very significant influence on the formation of students' critical thinking, since from their own daily experiences they learn to find appropriate answers or alternatives to various problems in different situations.
