The objective of this research is to explain how the journalistic discourses of the printed edition of Trome, Ojo and El Comercio newspapers —three of the most widely read newspapers in Metropolitan Lima— interpreted the peruvian reality through the hegemonic model of masculinity. For this purpose, the news related to the dissolution of Peru's Congress published on Monday September 30th, 2019 and Tuesday October 1st of that year, were analyzed, through the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), which allows to reveal the relations of control and domination that is manifested through language. This study was complemented by applying a content analysis to a sample of news published between Wednesday, October 2nd and Sunday, October 6th, 2019 in the selected newspapers. Thus, it sought to understand the way in which Trome, Ojo and El Comercio presented, established and perpetuated a certain reading of what it implied to be and to function as a male subject in the political scenario of crisis in the country
