The present research project entitled: "Improvement proposal using SLP to increase productivity in a company dedicated to plant machinery maintenance" aims to develop an improvement proposal using Muther's Systematic Layout Planning to increase the productivity of the company. To identify the main problems that affect productivity, tools such as Ishikawa diagram, Pareto diagram are used, concluding in inadequate plant distribution, deficient relocation of equipment and excessive permanence of temporary areas. With the information obtained, the SLP method is applied to achieve the redistribution of processes in the plant, the new areas assigned for each process developed in the plant are defined, the operation diagrams, analytical diagrams of the process and the development of the relationship diagram that accompanies each process, in this way the best proposal of plant distribution is obtained. It is estimated as a result of the application of the SLP, a productivity increase of 0.125% through the time measured in the analytical process diagram, with an annual saving of S/ 23,772.97 for the time saved. Finally, a cost-benefit analysis is carried out to determine the viability of the project with an investment of S/ 513.44 and a benefit-investment ratio of 46.30.
