At a global level it is observed that our planet is suffering the consequences of climate change. In this context, the international community through various legal instruments has shown its interest in reversing this situation. Our country as part of its obligations has created the National Program of Forest Conservation for the Mitigation of Climate Change that aims to preserve 54 million hectares of tropical forests as a contribution to the mitigation of climate change. Within the framework of the aforementioned national program, it is observed that the principle of prevention has helped to combat deforestation and environmental degradation in the native community of Anapate, thus managing the sustainable use of forests as a result of strengthening the capacities of the community members. However, considering the interviews conducted with the coordinator of the National Forest Conservation Program for the Mitigation of Climate Change of the Zonal Area of Satipo, the president of the Anapate native community and what was investigated, it is still pending to emphasize the post-production phase for the establishment of markets, in such a way that the inhabitants can culminate with a true sustainable use of the forests.
