Due to company policies it cannot be named, so we will refer to it as (company x). The focus of the work is carried out for company x, which provides services for the LAS BAMBAS mining operation; This provides two different types of services, one is the sale of equipment, components, spare parts and the second maintenance service, all referring to the CAT brand and strategic partners.Currently, company x has a VHS contract with the LAS BAMBAS mining operation, which consists in the fact that any spare part that is cataloged in the SAP with a code 800 must always be available for use, since they are highly critical spare parts must be when needed. Currently, company x has deficits in the sales service of these spare parts, specifically in the sale of those classified as GETS; Due to the fact that there are times in the year where stock breaks occur and others, where overstock occurs. Both situations negatively affect the company because they generate cost overruns in terms of unplanned emergency orders, damage to the corporate image, risk of contract loss on the side of stock breakages, and on the side of overstock, high storage costs and risk of product obsolescence due to manufacturer updates and spare parts compatibility. The present work seeks to make an improvement proposal for the supply of spare parts using discrete simulation with the intention of eliminating the problem of stock and overstock, establishing a healthy inventory and analyzing the demand trend.
