Climate change is already among us, we can no longer deal with mitigation measures, but we must opt for adaptation measures. Peru is the country that must make the most efforts to face climate change due to its high vulnerability associated with water, agricultural and food security. The Sowing and Harvesting of Rainwater (SHR) in the Jeullamayo micro-basin is a traditional knowledge that uses biodiversity and ecosystem services to face climate change. The thesis carries out a social evaluation of the improvement of the SHR understood as a measure that uses the natural infrastructure for adaptation to climate change and aims to be a replica model in other regions. As part of the methodology, the theory of well-being, the theory of environmental economic valuation, the theory of cost-benefit analysis, all around the Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) approach, were addressed. The methods used are the cost-benefit method, productivity changes, market prices, contingent valuation and transfer of benefits. The analysis indicates that SHR provides direct private and social benefits and positive local and regional externalities. The consolidated results with the cost-benefit method indicate that the project proposal, with a SDR of 5%, has a NPV of 1,099,140 soles and a ISRR of 15.2 %, where the investment decision is to execute the expansion of the SCALL in Jeullamayo.
