The general objective of this research was to investigate how the curricular changes of Regular Basic Education executed from 2005 to 2018 influence the performance of teachers in the area ofCommunication, of educational institutions atthe secondary levelof the province of Andahuaylas. It stuck to the interpretive paradigm because it investigated the particular and individual actions of the participants. The focus was qualitative, gathering information on experiences, opinions, values.Regarding the design, the case study was chosen with three sources of data, teachers' testimonies in a semi-structured interview, documents of planned sessions and its development was observed and recorded ina field notebook. The findings were grouped, analyzed and contrasted with the theoretical framework and the background through a triangulation process. As a result, it was found that the curricular changes affect the performance of the teacher in planningbecause they have modified the schemes, modelsand components organized under a logical order centered on content, then by objectives and finally by competences; but its writing shows the development of knowledge, but not the strengthening of competencies; In addition, the teacher has not yet managed to articulate the curricular components of a planning with the conduct of learning, at this stage he returns to the ingrained practice when conducting a session under parameters that do not contribute to the curricular concretion; rather, it presents isolated activities for each class. In this sense, the curricular concretion does not reach the planned objectives.
