Objective: the objective of this study is to “determine the relationship between the knowledge and practices related to the prevention of surgical site infections among nursing professionals in the Surgery Service at Hospital San Juan de Dios de Pisco in 2024. Materials and Method: this research is designed as a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional study, and will be conducted in the city of Pisco, Department of Ica, Peru. The study will focus on all nurses working in the Surgery Service at Hospital San Juan de Dios de Pisco II-1 during August 2024. The sample includes 30 licensed nurses, according to data from the hospital’s human resources department. Data results: will be collected using surveys and direct observation techniques. Conclution: this study are expected to set a significant precedent for future research by enhancing understanding and performance in the healthcare field, offering a comprehensive framework for analyzing the relevant variables and their interrelations. It will provide a critical model for guiding future research, facilitating replication and comparison, and will contribute to advancing knowledge in the management of infection risk at surgical sites.
