Objective: to determine the knowledge and practice of mechanical ventilation weaning of nursing personnel in the intensive care unit of a private clinic, Lima 2024. Materials and methods: this study will have a quantitative, non experimental, descriptive and cross-sectional approach and will be carried out in the city of Huaraz. The population will be composed of 30 nursing professionals working in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private clinic. In this analysis, the entire population will be used as a sample and the sampling will be intentional, non-probabilistic. Data will be collected by means of survey and observation techniques and the instruments will be a validated and reliable questionnaire and observation form. Results: SPSS software and descriptive statistics will be used to present the information collected. This process will include the determination of the frequency of presentation of the data, its organization according to the dimensions and indicators of the variables indicated. Conclusions: the results obtained will provide a basis for designing improvement and training strategies to ensure greater efficiency in the management of these patients.
