Objective: determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practices on the prevention of anemia in mothers of children under 5 years of age who attend the Gustavo Lanatta Lujan Health Center, 2024. Materials and methods: quantitative approach, non-experimental, cross-sectional design and correlational, the sample was made up of 49 mothers of children under 5 years of age from the C.S. Gustavo Lanatta Lujan, 2024. The sample was census, not probabilistic for convenience. The instrument to evaluate knowledge was a 3-dimensional questionnaire, and a questionnaire to evaluate preventive practices in 3 dimensions; both valid. Results: The level of knowledge about anemia in the participating mothers is mostly good (57.14%), followed by a regular level (32.65%) and poor level (10.20%). The practices on anemia prevention in the participating mothers are mostly good (30.61%) followed by excellent (30.61%), risky (18.37), poor (12.24%) and critical practices ( 8.16%). Through the chi square test, a significance level of less than 0.05 was found (p=0.002). Conclusions: there is a statistically significant relationship between the level of knowledge and practices on anemia prevention in mothers of children under 5 years of age who attend the C.S. Gustavo Lanatta, 2024.
