Objective: determine the level of preoperative anxiety in patients scheduled for laparoscopic cholecystectomy at the Regional Hospital of Cusco. 2024. Materials and Methods: this is a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, and cross-sectional study to be conducted in the city of Cusco. The study population will consist of a total of 84 patients. For data collection, a structured survey called the Reduced Anxiety Scale (R.A.S.) will be used, which is a shortened version of the Anxiety Situations and Responses Inventory (A.S.R.I.). Results: to analyze the collected data, the program Excel and the IBM SPSS Statistics version 26 software will be used. The processed results will be presented in statistical tables, which will be created according to the objectives set. Conclusions: this study will provide valuable background for expanding research on preoperative anxiety levels in patients. The findings will be of great value to the institution’s staff, helping to improve interventions and design strategies for these cases, thus providing more humanized care.
