Objective: To establish the relationship between atopic dermatitis and sleep quality alteration in children under 5 years of age at the Essalud Cusco Hospital 2023. Methodology: The scope of the study was descriptive-correlational with a non-experimental-cross-sectional design; the population and sample included all children diagnosed with atopic dermatitis (AD), i.e., those registered with this condition. This registry consisted of 47 children under 5 years of age treated at the EsSalud Cusco Hospital. To assess sleep quality, the Questionnaire on Sleep Habits in Children was used, and for Atopic Dermatitis the SCORAD index. Results: The relationship between atopic dermatitis and sleep quality alteration in children under 5 years of age was determined, because a statistically significant Chi-square coefficient of 14.45 with p < 5% was established. In addition, 54.5% of children with a severe level of dermatitis reported poor sleep quality, which indicates that the more severe the atopic dermatitis, the greater the sleep quality alterations. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between atopic dermatitis and sleep quality alteration in children under 5 years of age who were treated at the Essalud Hospital in the year of 2023.
