The World Health Organization has created the Expanded Program on Immunization, which has been successfully operating for 40 years now. Likewise, the World Health Organization has worked on the "Global Action Plan on Vaccines 2011-2020" in which it seeks to guarantee immunization as a priority, support communities so that they understand the value of vaccines, and the acknowledgment of vaccination as a right. However, in the current context of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been an impediment in the implementation of this plan in our country, given the high numbers of infected people that caused a collapse in the health system. Health promotion and prevention activities were limited. Disruptions due to the pandemic coupled with increasing inequalities in access to health services have led to an increase in children fully immunized against measles and other vaccine-preventable diseases. For this reason, we worked with the mothers of families belonging to the jurisdiction of the Jose Galvez Maternal and Child Center in search of the factors for which they had not gone to vaccinate their children. A survey was carried out with various areas of why they did not comply with the vaccination plan. The mothers of the family reported various events that encouraged the abandonment of the vaccination schedule, mainly related to COVID-19.
