The object of study of this thesis is the Systems Department of a Peruvian consulting company that produces software and that requires solving a problem in their processes that generates large economic losses. In the quantitative analysis, it was identified that there is inadequate project management, which has generated, in recent years, losses in billing. Faced with this situation, it is recommended to take corrective actions since it is evident that said losses are increasing annually, besides, it is impacting on the strategic objective of achieving efficiency in its processes; established to support the achievement of the organizational objective of increasing EBITDA. In the qualitative analysis it was identified that the main causes of the problem are related to the inadequate management of requirements, poor estimates of cost and time and inadequate planning. That is why, after the analysis of the problem, the implementation of the project management processes is proposed according to the CMMI-DEV model, since it adapts to the processes developed by the company and helps the organizations that they implement in the reduction of costs and time, as well as in the increase of the quality and the satisfaction of the client. As conclusions, it is recommended the execution of the proposal submitted to support the strategic objectives of the Department of Systems and the organization, avoiding economic losses that will allow the organization to be more profitable and increase the capacity to execute new projects generating higher revenues.
