At present there are various metal industries that generate waste or residues during their production due to the high demand that is generated in this area. These residues, also commonly called shavings, have certain similarities in their properties compared to commercial steel fibers, since these recycled fibers come from high strength steels. As a result of this problem, we decided to take it as an opportunity to analyze how these recycled fibers or steel shavings influence within the concrete, either in its fresh or hardened state, and also propose this option as a different alternative of addition for concrete structures in order to increase its resistance to both compression and flexion. Therefore, the present research project aims to evaluate and compare the behavior of recycled and commercial fibers within a concrete F'c = 210 kg / cm² subjected to compression and bending stresses, taking into account proportions of 1% , 2.5% and 4% fibers, it is expected that recycled steel fibers achieve similar results to commercial fibers with the purpose that they can be replaced or used as an alternative material and that these allow a better performance unlike concrete without fiber addition Finally, it will seek to evaluate the cost-benefit since the fact of being recycled material allows to generate savings and at the same time contribute to the care of the environment.
