The present research study was descriptive, correlational, non-experimental, cross sectional, whose objective was to determine the association between academic stress and sociodemographic factors in nursing students from a private university, Trujillo -2022. The sample consisted of 340 nursing students from I to VIII cycle, to whom the SISCO academic stress inventory and a sociodemographic survey were applied. The collected data was analyzed using the Excel program. In addition, the Chi square statistical test was used and finally statistical tables were executed. The results obtained indicated that nursing students, 61.5% have moderate academic stress, followed by 35% a severe level and only 3.5% have a mild level of academic stress, also 52.6% were ≤ 20 years, 89.4 % They are single; 72.9% come from the urban area; 66.5% live with their parents and/or siblings; 59.7% do not have personal morbidity; 72.1% of the students have a job and 80.6% their studies are financed by their parents or other relatives. In relation to stress, most of the students presented stress with 52.6% being those who were ≤20 years old, 89.4% single, 72.9% come from the urban area, 66.5% live with their parents and/or siblings, 59.7% without morbidity, 72.1% unemployed and 80.6% finance their studies, their parents or other relatives, when applying the Chi-square test determines that there is no association between academic stress and sociodemographic factors of nursing students from a private university in In the 2022-20 academic year, in all cases the p-value of significance always exceeded the critical value (p< 0.05).
