The objective of this research study was to analyze the actions of the PNP personnel of the intelligence department against the crime of extortion in civil construction works, Metropolitan Lima in the year 2022, the type of investigation was basic, with a qualitative approach, the design of The investigation was phenomenological and the sample was of a criterial type, intentional to 4 police officers of the intelligence department of the social affairs division, to the head of the intelligence department, carried out at the headquarters of the Social Affairs Division, located in Rimac District and 2 civil construction managers, having used the interview guide instrument, in order to have the necessary means of proof that serve as a collection of information to prosecute the members of the gangs and criminal organizations, reaching the conclusion that the intelligence department of the social affairs division of the DIRSEEST PNP, which depends systemically of the Police Intelligence System, which must improve their participation, regarding the search for sources of evidence as part of their contribution within the police procedures for the search for information against gangs and criminal organizations.
