Abstract: Influencia de la concentración de silano y porcentaje en peso de fibra de palma de aguaje (mauritia flexuosa) sobre la resistencia al impacto en un compuesto de matriz poliéster
Note: In the present reasearch, the influence of the concentration of N- (2a-aminoethyl) -3- aminopropyltrimethoxysilane diluted in ethanol (95% pure) in the silanization process during 1 hour, the percentage in the weight of the aguaje palm fiber (Mauritia flexuosa), on the impact resistance in a compound of unsaturated polyester matrix molded by compression at a constant pressure of 3500 psi. The impact resistance test was carried out under the UNE EN ISO 179-1 standard. The results of the impact test of polyester resin are compared with compounds reinforced with aguaje fiber to treat and silanized at 1, 2 and 3% (v / v), with different percentages of fiber by weight (25, 30 and 35%), obtaining the best result in the composite reinforced with 2% silanized aguaje fiber with 35% fiber by weight, giving an impact resistance of 51.50 KJ / m2, improving the properties of impact resistance. Likewise, the analysis was performed on the fracture mechanism. The contents of cellulose, hemicellulose, waxes and fats and moisture present in the palm fiber of the aguaje are characterized by standard test methods, standard ASTM D1107-96. The increase in the percentages of holocellulose and cellulose indicates the best mechanical properties, as well as the decrease in humidity, the property of the resistance and the reduction of the hydrophilic hydroxyl groups. Finally, a morphological study was carried out by means of analysis as visual evidence of the aguaje fibers, thanks to the silanization, they improved their interfacial characteristics. In addition, an FTIR spectrometry analysis was carried out to study its chemical composition, demonstrating in this way the slight increase in cellulose and holocellulose and percentage of moisture, and the decrease in hemicellulose, lignin and fats.
