Complaints Registration System and its Relation to the Monitoring of Criminal Acts in the Police Division - Tarapoto, 2021 Citizen security is a growing concern due to crime increase. In response to this challenge, the Tarapoto Police Division has developed a software-based complaint registration system. This innovation guarantees greater accuracy and speed in the management of complaints, strengthening transparency and generating trust among citizens. Through interviews, analysis and direct observation of police officers, shortcomings and opportunities for improvement in the existing registration processes were identified. Based on these findings, an information system structured on the RUP methodology was designed, which allows to specify, visualize and adequately document the operations. This methodology reduces ambiguities and simplifies decisions during development, particularly when modeling aspects such as classes, sequences and components. It is essential to mention the rigorousness in the evaluation of software quality. Exhaustive tests were carried out, ranging from performance to usability and functionality, yielding positive indicators that ensure its operability and efficiency. In fact, an overall efficiency of 53.78% was achieved, standing out mainly in essential modules such as registration and visualization of complaints. This system, which can be accessed by both authorities and citizens, seeks to actively combat crime by providing updated, verified and reliable information on areas of vulnerability. It is expected that this technological tool will contribute significantly to crime prevention and reduce the perception of insecurity among the Tarapoto citizens.
