The research topic of this study was "Analysis of the financial system and the level of banking penetration in the district of Tarapoto, period 2009-2019", the purpose was to determine the relationship between the financial system and the level of banking penetration in the district of Tarapoto, period 2009-2019. In addition, the methodology was developed under the basic type, with a relational level and a non-experimental design. The sample consisted of 23 financial institutions, comprising 10 banking companies, 3 financial companies, 7 savings and credit cooperatives (CRAC) and 3 Edpymes; for data collection, the documentary analysis guides (SBS and INEI) were used. It was possible to affirm that the financial system influences bankarization, which has been verified with the application of Pearson's Correlation statistical test, establishing that there is a significant relationship at the 0.000 level between the financial system and the depth dimension of bankarization, since the sig. value (bilateral) between the correlated elements is less than 0.05 (margin of error) in each case. When analyzed individually, it is observed that, in terms of the financial system's deposits, this has had a greater incidence on the ratio of deposits / GDP, since the Pearson correlation value was 0.993, thus evidencing a very strong and almost perfect association. In the case of financial system loans, this has had a greater impact on the loans/GDP ratio, since the Pearson correlation value was 0.983. Thus, it is demonstrated that the financial system has had a positive and very strong impact on the depth dimension of bankarization, since, as deposits and placements of the financial system increase, the level of bankarization in terms of the depth dimension rises. Furthermore, a significant relationship is established at the 0.000 level between the financial system and the coverage dimension of bankarization, since the sig. value (bilateral) between the correlated elements is less than 0.05 (margin of error) in each of the cases; thus, it is demonstrated that the financial system has had a positive and very strong impact on the coverage dimension of bankarization, since, as the deposits and placements of the financial system increase, the level of bankarization in terms of the coverage dimension rises.
