In the context of the global urgency to preserve forest ecosystems, the research focused on the Puerto Prado Native Community in Loreto, evaluating the interaction between environmental management and forest conservation and its perception by the community. Through a survey methodology applied to 60 residents, attitudes towards current policies and practices in these two key areas were investigated. The results demonstrated a strong community consensus in support of environmental management (93%) and forest conservation (73%), with a Spearman correlation coefficient of 0.858 and a significance value p < 0.001, indicating a positive relationship and statistically significant between both variables, also confirming that environmental management policies and practices are closely linked to the conservation status of the forests. Despite general support, elements with room for improvement were identified, highlighting the importance of targeted intervention strategies. The recommendations accentuate the relevance of promoting educational and training initiatives, addressing the critical elements of environmental management that demand special attention, and promoting deeper community participation. It also highlights the need to undertake additional research to improve conservation policies and understand how positive perceptions can be transformed into sustainable environmental practices.
